SIMORRA at Madrid Fashion Week 2024: a collection that transcends time

The 79th edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid surprises once again with the autumn winter 2024 collections. During these days, IFEMA has brought together numerous professionals and guests to immerse themselves in the latest fashion trends. Among the prominent designers, SIMORRA has presented a collection inspired by fossils that redefines the relationship between fashion and nature.

Since its famous debut in the last edition, the brand has maintained its focus on materials and fabrics. On this occasion, and under the creative direction of Eva Dimas and Victoria Mitjans, the collection, titled “The Memory of Time“, invites us to reflect on the eternity of fossils and the multiple lives that they represent through their textures.

Javier Simorra has presented a game of materials and volumes where the fabric takes center stage. The folds, gathers and silhouettes that are reminiscent of the shapes that nature creates combined with different fabrics such as wool or leather stand out. The snail-shaped fossil – called ammonites – has been the key symbol in this parade. It has appeared both in the fabrics of the designs and in the accessories of earrings, necklaces or belts.

The color range, inspired by ocher, greenish and carbonated tones of fossilized rocks, transports attendees on a visual journey where fashion and geology come together.
